Ubisoft Sparks Backlash Over UAE Major For Rainbow Six Siege
Ubisoft's announcement that the Rainbow Six Siege Phase 2 Major will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has sparked a backlash from the gaming community. A few weeks ago, Ubisoft announced that they would be making some small changes to the map and user interface of Rainbow Six: Siege in preparation for the localization of Siege in Asia. The Rainbow Six Siege community was stunned when Ubisoft announced plans to host the second 2022 Major in the UAE.
If the second major of 2022 takes place in the UAE, it is likely that some participants of the Rainbow Six Siege broadcast will not be able to attend. Several members of the Rainbow Six Siege community, including content creators, commentators and Ubisoft staff from the Ubisoft Rainbow Six Siege community, have expressed their disappointment with the decision to host the 2022 Siege Major in the UAE and the 2022 Siege Major in the United Arab Emirates.
