'PUBG' is now 'PUBG: Battlegrounds'
In September 2017 due to the rapid growth and interest in the game, Bluehole spun off the entire development of Battlegrounds from Bluehole to Ginno Games and renamed PUBG Corporation with Kim as Chief Executive Officer. The company continues development and growth of the game and marketing, opening a second office in the United States with plans for future operations in Europe and Japan. In addition, Krafton is expanding the "PUBG" brand with a variety of new experiences that will set it apart from the rest of the universe.
This is the same video game industry where Valve and Blizzard are fighting to defend the old name of a Warcraft III mod that wanted to break away on its own and coined Dota 2.
PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds is one of the most distinctive game names of the last decade. It's not the name to forget, but its concise acronym PUBG has become so popular that the Battle Royale 2017 blew up. Playerunkown's Battlegrounds had a new name, the same but different, and Krafton renamed it Battle Royale under that new name.
I'm not sure most people have a clue what the hell PlayerUnknowns is, except the guys behind Battlegrounds. The devil is PlayerUnknown - the man who set the Battle Royale craze on fire with the ARMA 2 mod that led to the development of the original game. And I don't know what Krafton was thinking when he withdrew the game to battlefields, but the atrocity is here.
The game is based on a mode developed by the famous Brendan "PlayerUnknowns" Greene. PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds began its foray into free play on August 10 but it's only been available this week, and insiders speculate that it's the beginning of a new era for the game. The game has been renamed and it is claimed that the game will be switched to a free-to-play model.
The free time coincides with a collaboration between PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds and K-pop group Blackpink, which will begin on August 8th for PC and on August 12th for consoles and redecorate the game in Blackpink's colors. The game launches on August 10 and lasts until August 16, according to a new trailer describing the "Blackpink Collaboration.".
PUBG Lite is free for Stadia Pro members and supports cross-play between Xbox One and PS4. PUBG is one of the best selling, most traded and most played video games of all time.
PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds (PUBG) is an online battle royale game developed and released by PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of the South Korean video game company Bluehole. The game is based on previous mods by Brendan "Player Unknowns" Greene and other games inspired by the Japanese film Battle Royale 2000 and expands the original game under the Creative Direction of Greene
