Netflix Starts Testing Stranger Things Games In Its Android App
Netflix today announced that it is launching tests of mobile games for its members in Poland in the Android app. Netflix took the next step towards gaming, allowing subscribers in Poland to play two Stranger Things games in its app, the streaming service announced on Thursday. Earlier this month, Netflix confirmed that it would add games to its mobile app, and its geek-out Twitter account announced that Polish subscribers can now try Netflix mobile games on Android, beginning with the Stranger Things Android port.
It is worth noting that the games will only be available on the streamer via the Netflix app, as the bevy of movie and TV content is separate from the Netflix gaming application. The test runs will further advance the Android gaming feature.
Netflix has launched its campaign to expand its reach into video games. Announcing its second-quarter earnings last month, streaming giant revealed plans to enter the video gaming market and looked at mobile games to see if there is a new content category that can help it attract and retain customers. Last month, Netflix confirmed its first move into video game mobile, which is becoming increasingly expensive with a current streaming subscription.
