Kojima signs letter of intent with Xbox before engaging in talks
It looks as though that working with Xbox is next for Kojima as he’s signed a “letter of intent” with the company before engaging in talks with them.
Though the talks between Hideo Kojima and Microsoft haven’t begun yet this more than signals that Kojima is interested in working with Microsoft on his next project.
While Kojima has worked with Microsoft in the past, it’s not about the games it’s about the technology specifically the cloud technology that Microsoft is developing. Kojima stated that he wants to use the cloud as a major part of his upcoming game. Kojima is known for making games that break the conventions of the industry, from the cinematics and nuance of games like Metal Gear Solid, to the fact that Kojima’s latest title, Death Stranding, contains little combat and a focus on conquering the environment around the player to deliver packages to a given destination. Kojima has brought it upon himself to show the world that he’s more than willing to break the mold in order to bring about a new form of entertainment for players to enjoy, all while saying something about the world around us.
Kojima definitely has something great planned and it looks like Microsoft might be a big part of that.
