Dell Announces 4K webcam with AI Auto Framing
Dell has announced a brand new 4K UltraSharp 4K Webcam. The Dell webcam will cost a staggering $199.99, but it’s jammed packed with some great tech.
The webcam comes with Sony’s STARVIS CMOS 8.3-megapixel sensor capable of recording (or streaming) in 4K at 30/24 FPS or 1080p at 24/30/60 FPS, and is touting “best-in-class” image quality all for a relatively acceptable (albeit still premium) price tag.
You can fine-tune its field-of-view — from 65 degrees (a more intimate close-up), 78 degrees, or all the way up to 90 degrees for the widest possible shot. It also comes with numerous tweaks and features (like automatic light correction) that will make you look as good as possible regardless of your lighting set-up. With 5x digital zoom and autofocus, it’s well-equipped for a bevy of different use-case scenarios, including Zoom calls or a bit of Twitch streaming. It works without any drivers on both Windows 10 and macOS, but the grunt of its most appealing features can only be accessed through Dell’s Peripheral Manager software.
