Bethesda is releasing a 10th anniversary edition of 'Skyrim'
While the remaster does not bring anything new to the table, the two remasters - the VR version and the Special Edition - are portages of the game from Xbox One and the PS4 from 2016 which helped adapt the game to the hardware of the time. There is also the legendary Skyrim version released two years after release, which combined the expansion for the game with the box with the special edition and transferred the game to the new consoles. The additional special edition of the games, which includes Fishing, will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S on November 11, 2021, and you can get a free next-generation update for these consoles if you own it.
The full version of the game will feature new features, including Fishing Mechanic and over 500 creations, club content, quests, dungeons, bosses, weapons and spells not available in the Anniversary Edition. There will also be many opportunities to get new content for players who have been back to Skyrim for a while, as the game ships with add-ons like Dragonborn and Dawnguard. There are also new releases for last and current generation consoles and PCs with new content, including Fishing.
Players will be able to relive Skyrim's iconic opening on the latest consoles by following the infamous Bethesda trend of reviving open-world role-playing games on various consoles. This time, Bethesda is piggybacking off Skyrim's 10th anniversary by releasing a different version of the game.
We don't know how much the upgrade will cost, and Bethesda hasn't revealed pricing details. If you own the special edition already or play the game on Xbox Game Pass, Bethesda will allow you to buy the updated version of the game, but the company has not yet specified the price.
Owners of Xbox One and PS4 will not only receive a free upgrade to an improved version of Skyrim: Special Edition for Xbox Series X, X-S and PlayStation 5. Owners of the Skyrim Special Edition for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, S and Xbox Game Pass for the next-generation consoles also receive the upgrade.
