Alienware's Concept Nyx is like a Plex server for your PC games
Think of it as the Plex of the game, but instead of opening the video library, it is better to bring the game to all devices. Think of it as the Plex of the game, but instead of opening the video library, you want your video game to be available on all devices. Think of it as Plex in a game, but instead of opening your video library, you just need to bring the game to all your devices.
This is a fundamental concept behind the Alienwares Idea Nyx, a server efficient enough to run all of your video games in your home community. But we may see elements of this in future products, just like using the UFO controller Nyx demonstrates. Alienware didn't tell us what powers the mysterious Nyx server, which looks like a giant gaming PC.
Alienware didn't tell us what the power of the mysterious Nyx server was, it looked like an endless gaming PC. Alienware's Concept Nyx is a powerful server, enough to run all your games on your home network. Similar to the Alienwares Concept UFO (a Swap-style mobile gaming PC) that debuted two years ago, Nyx may not see the sun during the day. Due to its powerful power, it can run up to 4 simultaneous games at the same time, and it can transmit up to 4 different screens or devices.
Alienware would not be able to tell us that it supports the Nyxs secret server, which looks like a great gaming PC. Similar to the Alienwares Idea UFO, a Change-style portable gaming PC that was first showcased two years ago, the Nyx couldn't see the daytime sun. Concept Nyx is joining the product this year, essentially operating as a home server capable of streaming games throughout the home. But we can see what the future holds as the UFO controller used shows Nyx.
Plus, very few people want a powerful server at home when a gaming PC is more than enough. Alienware may have found a solution for home multiplayer gaming by gaining support for streaming games through Google Stadia or Xbox. This is where you can tweak some settings on your Plex server, such as turning off cinematic trailers that play before the movie, or specifying whether your library should include video thumbnails. It is likely that you can run two video games directly on your TV, as we noticed during the New York demo.
The company says it is also exploring methods for directly launching 4 video games, as well as strategies for collecting all of your games, no matter where you host them.
For example, if you have an Apple TV and are frustrated that the main Plex application cannot run without Internet access, you can still use DLNA-compatible applications such as VLC to access movies and shows on the Plex server. ...Your local Plex server will remain open, even if there is no Internet connection available to call home.
However, we can see its components in future products, just like UFO controllers are used to detect Nyx. Internet connection is the core of the Plex media server, but this does not mean that you sometimes need to leave Plex (for example, during a local outage or during a vacation away from reliable Internet access). However, we may see part of it in future products, and Nyx shows how to best use UFO controllers. Any DLNA compatible media player or client on your local network will automatically detect your Plex server and you can access your media.
Although using Plex Media Server as a DLNA server does not provide you with a complete Plex experience, it does give you access to all media. In fact, in our guide to using VLC for Apple TV, you can even see our Plex media server in multiple screenshots due to DLNA integration. If you have a large library, you can give yourself some time for a sandwich before sitting down to watch your first Plex movie.
